I have been looking for a small table to place in our entry way. We are not at the place in our lives where we can justify buying nice (matching) furniture for our home. Our living room is a hodgepodge of garage sale and hand-me-down furniture that I’ve painted the same color to disguise their origin. I saw this beauty(?) at a yard sale for $5.
You better believe I bargained and got it for $3. It is an old sewing table covered with gummy rubber, shreds of cloth, and 420 (I stopped counting there, but there were more) staples that I removed one-by-one, by hand--blisters to prove it. I won’t say K doubted my ability, but he certainly questioned the worth of all the labor put into a $3 table. No question in my mind, however.
